Start Now is a hands-on, interactive workshop series designed for middle school, high school, and transition-age students with disabilities and their families. This series supports early planning for community employment and adult life. With a focus on practical skills, Person-Centered practices, and family involvement, attendees build self-advocacy and life skills while creating a one-page profile that helps shape their future path.
Learning Objectives:
- Begin thinking about and planning for the future
- Learn practical skills such as self-advocacy, technology tools, and job and life skills
- Create a one-page profile using Person-Centered tools
- Understand the transition system from school to adult life
Attendee Requirements:
This is a family-centered course; students may attend with parents or guardians, but it is not required
