Person-Centered Tools for Student Led IEPs

This four-session live virtual training focuses on Person-Centered Planning tools and strategies that support student-led IEPs. Attendees explore practical ways to center student voice, build self-advocacy skills, and collaborate with educators and teams so IEPs become meaningful, student-driven conversations rather than compliance-focused meetings.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain the core principles of Person-Centered Planning and how they support student-led IEP development.
  • Apply person-centered tools to help students identify and communicate their strengths, needs, preferences, and goals.
  • Support student voice and shared decision-making to strengthen advocacy, learning, growth, opportunity, and interdependence in school and beyond.

Attendee Requirements:

No prior experience with Person-Centered Planning is required. Attendees should work with or support students through the IEP process.
