PATH Planning
A PATH Plan is a facilitated process that uses graphic facilitation to support storytelling, problem-solving, and strategic action. Developed by Jack Pearpoint, Marsha Forest, and John O’Brien, it is designed to help individuals, teams, and communities create a shared vision, identify obstacles, and map out clear steps toward meaningful goals.
Each PATH session is led by two trained facilitators: one guides the group through a structured conversation, while the other captures the discussion visually through graphic recording. This collaborative process ensures all voices are heard, brings ideas to life on the page, and helps participants stay focused and engaged.
PATH planning supports both short-term action and long-term visioning, helping groups:
- Clarify their purpose and direction
- Recognize and address barriers
- Identify resources and allies
- Build momentum and accountability
The PATH process is flexible and can be applied to:
- Individuals designing a personal future
- Teams aligning around shared goals
- Organizations and communities working toward collective change
Whether used for strategic planning, team building, or vision setting, PATH planning offers a creative, inclusive way to build connection and commitment.
