Who Should Take this Series?

This course is designed for transition educators and employment specialists to learn how to support students and/or job seekers in creating a website portfolio to market their strengths and skills.

Goals

By the end of the 12-weeks, course participants are equipped to guide students to create a website that serves as dynamic resumes, reflecting their skills, experiences, and achievements. This not only enhances students’ employability but also boosts their confidence as they transition into the workforce.

Logistics

  • This 12-week course is a hybrid of instructor-led live trainings and on-demand modules. This is intended to be collaborative learning space to share your ideas and progress with the group.
  • In order to receive a Certificate of Completion, the course participants must create at least one website portfolio.
  • The total cost for the course is $1,750.

  • Technology Tools & Skill Building: Access to web development tools and technologies to enhance their ability to share new and relevant information with students. This includes customizable templates, working with graphics, and utilizing the power of artificial intelligence.
  • Step-by-Step Tutorials: Clear, easy-to-follow instructions for each stage of the website portfolio creation process.
  • Personalized Feedback: Through one-on-one coaching sessions, course participants received feedback specific to their learning environment.
  • Customized Instruction: Guidance from the course instructor on using the website editor as well as support navigating the logistics of implementing the course information into their work.
  • Peer Collaboration: Opportunities to collaborate and share ideas with other transition educators and employment consultants through live group sessions.
  • Portfolio Development: Focus on creating a professional portfolio that effectively showcases students’ skills and achievements.
  • Final Presentation: An opportunity to present the completed website portfolio to the cohort for feedback and celebration.
  • Strategic Content Development: Instruction on how to highlight students’ skills, experiences, and achievements effectively to attract potential employers.
