Jim Corey

With nearly three decades in the disability employment sector, Jim Corey is a key leader in the Pacific Northwest and national Employment First movements for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). As Development Director at WISE, Jim has pioneered programs that advance competitive integrated employment (CIE) and social inclusion, setting a high standard for disability employment outcomes in Washington State.

Jim’s expertise includes training on customized employment for individuals with significant disabilities, focusing on person-centered planning and self-employment. His leadership has driven impactful programs like the Wise Online Academy, a training platform certified by the Association of Community Rehabilitation Professionals, and the Washington and Oregon Employment Learning Networks, delivering specialized education to employment specialists. Through his work, Jim has helped put self-advocates at the forefront, empowering them to lead, share their stories, and teach others about disability inclusion.

With a deep belief that everyone has unique talents and the right to contribute meaningfully, Jim has developed a reputation as a creative strategist, skilled trainer, and advocate for social justice. He is committed to securing funding to sustain and expand WISE’s mission, working to build an inclusive future where people with IDD can find purpose and economic equity. A lifelong learner and community builder, Jim continues to bridge gaps, foster partnerships, and champion opportunity for those who’ve been left out of the workforce.
